Plano Chiropractor – A Spa Experience For The Inside Of Your Body
Many of our clients get regular spa treatments for hair, face, nails, and body massage. They’re surprised to hear that chiropractic is the ‘internal spa experience’ that can keep all systems in alignment. Internal health contributes to true wellness and a feeling of well-being.
Stress
Even without a traumatic injury that most associate with need for chiropractic assistance; your body carries the strain and stress of daily living. Stress if often manifested with improper posture – slumping, out of balance due to carrying excess weight, or sitting awkwardly in a chair all day. When the vertebrae in the spine are out of sync, the resultant subluxation (chiropractor language for ‘out of alignment’) causes pressure on nerves and interference of nerve impulses. Such dis-orientation has ripple effects all over the body, causing trouble to the heart, liver, stomach, sinuses, ears, as well as headaches.
Being Proactive
Instead of waiting for the effects of stress to appear and cause problems such as pain or illness, a regular visit to a chiropractor can correct issues in the early stages. Your spine is checked for alignment and trouble spots are adjusted. Other joints in legs and arms are also considered for adjustment. Many people feel immediate relief when the body is re-aligned the way it is designed to work. Because total wellness comes also from diet and exercise, a visit to the chiropractor offers a place of accountability for staying on top of what you’re doing to have a healthy body.
Without the presence of an obvious need, we suggest a visit about every two months to check in and have an adjustment. The inside of your body gets the treatment it needs to keep the outside looking good. Health glows from the inside out.

Plano Chiropractor Offers Suggestions For Good Spinal Health
Dr. Malay, Plano chiropractor, offers these tips
Your mother’s reminders to ‘stand up straight’ really were for your good. The problems caused by poor posture bring people to our practice daily. Lack of correct posture is often caused by lifestyles and events such as constantly bending forward for work, standing on your feet for long periods of time, high-heels, obesity and pregnancy. Excessive strain on muscles in the back and hamstrings causes pain or causes them to relax and not do the work for which they were intended. The American Chiropractic Association offers the following tips for proper sitting, standing and lying down to avoid strain and injury:
Sitting properly
• Keep your feet on the floor or on a footrest, if they don’t reach the floor.
• Don’t cross your legs. Your ankles should be in front of your knees.
• Keep a small gap between the back of your knees and the front of your seat.
• Your knees should be at or below the level of your hips.
• Adjust the backrest of your chair to support your low- and mid-back or use a back support.
• Relax your shoulders and keep your forearms parallel to the ground.
• Avoid sitting in the same position for long periods of time.
Standing properly
• Bear your weight primarily on the balls of your feet.
• Keep your knees slightly bent.
• Keep your feet about shoulder-width apart.
• Let your arms hang naturally down the sides of the body.
• Stand straight and tall with your shoulders pulled backward.
• Tuck your stomach in.
• Keep your head level-your earlobes should be in line with your shoulders. Do not push your head forward, backward, or to the side.
• Shift your weight from your toes to your heels, or one foot to the other, if you have to stand for a long time.
• A quick tip for correct standing posture is to hold arms straight down at your side and rotate your hands outward, effectively having your palms face forward. Your shoulders will be put into correct position.
Lying down
• Find the mattress that is right for you. While a firm mattress is generally recommended, some people find that softer mattresses reduce their back pain. Your comfort is important.
• Sleep with a pillow. Special pillows are available to help with postural problems resulting from a poor sleeping position.
• Avoid sleeping on your stomach.
• Sleeping on your side or back is more often helpful for back pain.
• If you sleep on your side, place a pillow between your legs.
• If you sleep on your back, keep a pillow under your knees.
If you have chronic pain due to posture issues, it is possible to get help and eliminate or reduce pain. Start by beginning to follow the guidelines above. An appointment with us can help you with needed adjustments and exercise and/or postural suggestions to put you back on the path to wellness.

How A Chiropractor Can Help With Shoulder Pain
Shoulder pain, a very common complaint by many patients, can be very challenging to diagnose and can take time to heal even with correct treatment. The shoulder pain you may be experiencing is part of our neck and back pain relief program. And we are committed to alleviating many upper body issues that our patients may be experiencing.
Painful separation of the A-C joint can occur from repetitive use or from damage. More common forms of shoulder pain like tendonitis or bursitis can become chronic. These are just two types of the shoulder pain that you may be experiencing. If your pain has been reoccurring for several days, you need to seek the care of a doctor. Other common reasons to seek care for your shoulder pain would be:
- Powerless to raise your arm
- Considerable swelling, even bruising around the arm or joint
- Pain that arises in the evening or when at rest
- Incapacity to carry (reasonably light) objects
Assuming you do not need surgery, the good news is, chiropractic care may be a good option to heal your shoulder pain. As part of our natural techniques, we will look at your overall health by assessing your diet and activity level. Unless you have had some type of trauma, this assessment will help us determine how your shoulder pain may have started.
Taking action sooner rather than later will get you on the road to recovery. Call our office at (972) 378-0383 to contact us via our online contact form to schedule your appointment.

Chiropractor Relieves Patient’s Back Pain By 99%
Andy Robinson suffered from severe back pain. His doctor wanted to do surgery but relented and gave him $128 worth of medicine. Andy refused to take the medicine due to the fact that it could create problems with his intestines and stomach as well as increase his risk of a stroke.
Andy’s wife saw North Dallas Spine & Total Health’s (formerly Alliance Pain Centers) advertisement for chiropractor services in the newspaper. He immediately set an appointment to see Dr. Malay and her team to begin treatments. The results began almost immediately; he started feeling 99% pain free.
We see these types of results from our patients regularly. When traditional medicines don’t work for you or someone you know, try a natural process using proven methods that give positive results.
“North Dallas Spine & Total Health (formerly Alliance Pain Centers) …first of all is just awesome. I have been to neurosurgeons…my doctor…pain mangement…epidural steriod injections.”

Spinal Disc Problems Chiropractor Solution Carrollton Dallas Plano
Many patients suffer from back pain which is often referred to by many names, one of which is a “pinched nerve.” By definition a chiropractor may describe this condition as a pinched nerve. This ailment is not a result of pain directly in the disc but rather a nerve in the spine is being pinched. The pain is the sign of pressure or damage to the nerve roots that affects other parts of the body. Sciatica is one of the symptoms that results from leg pain and stems from a pinched nerve into the lower spine. Patients that suffer from sciatica may experience numbness or weakness in the leg and lower back. Individuals can also experience a tingling sensation which may cause an area to feel dead but may also extend other areas of the body.
Another general type of a spinal disc problem is referred to as symptomatic degenerated disc . This is usually pain associated in the lower back and it may have concurrent leg pain. Though the term sounds ominous, the condition is not progressive nor is it really a disease. This condition is considered normal with age.
If you are experiencing lower back pain but have not been diagnosed by a chiropractor with what could be causing it or how you can be effectively treated, call our office today to schedule an appointment.
