Children’s Celeb Gets Relief – Plano Chiropracter Plano Chiropractor
Anthony Field, aka ‘The Blue Wiggle,’ is telling the world about How I Got My Wiggle Back – with chiropractic. Anthony was troubled with depression, chronic neck and back pain and digestive issues that made his quality of life almost unbearable. He credits chiropractic care for helping him get back on track, and his book is a testimony to overcoming numerous challenges with comprehensive care for the body.
Anthony is so excited to share his success that he agreed to be a spokesperson for The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress (F4CP) for 2012. As the creator and member of ‘The Wiggles,’ a singing group popular with the under age 5 set, Anthony performs for children all over the world and also has a TV show on PBS. He says that he was never sad on stage, but off-stage his life was nose-diving. It was when the pain became overwhelming that he sought natural help. With the help of chiropractors, Anthony began a regimen of eating better, exercise and regular chiropractic adjustments. Because his group is so active onstage, he now has a chiropractor available everywhere he travels, to make sure that he stays in optimal shape, feeling good.
We see many people that have a similar situation in Dallas, Plano and Carrollton . They look good on the outside, and many people think they ‘have it all together.’ But some of the side effects of success – stress, sliding into poor or too-rich eating habits, and lack of exercise – create havoc on their body. Anthony’s book will be an encouragement that help is possible by getting on a program of health and sticking with it.

Plano Chiropractor: Can Chiropractic Care Work For You?
Watch any daytime talk show and you are bound to see an expert speak on how positive thinking can do wonders for your life. While it is true that usually those with an optimistic world view can expect to attract a healthier outcome, the question remains: is chiropractic care all hogwash or does it have effective and measurable results?
Starting with the facts, we all know that neck and back pain are real, but what about the treatments? There are various therapies for the pain which include everything from muscle relaxers to surgery. At North Dallas Spine & Total Health, we have seen patients with back pain keeping them from living the kind of life they once did. Many have gone to other doctors that prescribed more traditional remedies resulting in continued agony.
One type of treatment plan we offer is our high-powered laser therapy with our Avicenna Laser. Read about two case studies below to determine if their situation rings true, to some extent, to how you feel.
Case Study 1
A 66-year old man suffered from chronic neck pain. He had seen many doctors (including chiropractors) and took many pain pills. Unfortunately, none of the treatments worked for him and he had to stop bike riding his 150 miles a week and fly fishing.
Outcome: After receiving treatments, he can work out at the gym and he’s back to bike riding and fly fishing with pain-free results.
Case Study 2
A patient had back pain trouble from the age of 12. He was diagnosed with a congenital defect of his 5th lumbar vertebrae. He sought treatments from several doctors for a number of years.
Outcome: After starting 12 treatments, his pain level went down 70%. He used to be grumpy and irritable. Now his outlook is positive and he feels much better. He recommends that if you are struggling with chronic pain to try Avicenna Laser treatments.

How A Chiropractor Can Help With Shoulder Pain
Shoulder pain, a very common complaint by many patients, can be very challenging to diagnose and can take time to heal even with correct treatment. The shoulder pain you may be experiencing is part of our neck and back pain relief program. And we are committed to alleviating many upper body issues that our patients may be experiencing.
Painful separation of the A-C joint can occur from repetitive use or from damage. More common forms of shoulder pain like tendonitis or bursitis can become chronic. These are just two types of the shoulder pain that you may be experiencing. If your pain has been reoccurring for several days, you need to seek the care of a doctor. Other common reasons to seek care for your shoulder pain would be:
- Powerless to raise your arm
- Considerable swelling, even bruising around the arm or joint
- Pain that arises in the evening or when at rest
- Incapacity to carry (reasonably light) objects
Assuming you do not need surgery, the good news is, chiropractic care may be a good option to heal your shoulder pain. As part of our natural techniques, we will look at your overall health by assessing your diet and activity level. Unless you have had some type of trauma, this assessment will help us determine how your shoulder pain may have started.
Taking action sooner rather than later will get you on the road to recovery. Call our office at (972) 378-0383 to contact us via our online contact form to schedule your appointment.
Expectations From Your Chiropractor
What can you expect when you go to a chiropractor?
We cannot speak for all chiropractors. But in general, we believe that a good one will take similar steps, like we do, to make patients feel comfortable at every visit. The first step is to determine how severe your back pain is when you come in for your chiropractic evaluation. The assessment is based on many factors including overall physical condition, your age and pain tolerance. After a single session with your chiropractor, you may experience some soreness. But that is not likely.
How we adjust your body
To prevent too much (if any) soreness after pain treatment, we will begin sessions slowly and gently and work up to a level of intensity but never exceed your tolerance. The chiropractic adjustment may alleviate your tension and prove to be a sensational experience.
Think of the visit with your chiropractor the same way you do after beginning an exercise regimen. At the beginning, you may feel sore. But if you’ve started out slowly, you can work up to a higher levels of intensity over time and minimize or prevent the soreness altogether.

Neck Pain Treatment
Due to its position on the body and range of motion, the neck is vulnerable to injury. Neck pain may also be a result of an inflammatory disease.
By definition neck pain may be located anywhere from the bottom of the neck to the top of the shoulders and spread from the upper arms or back. Neck pain sufferers may find limitations of movement in their head and neck. Trigger points, known as the posterior cervical muscles, are the muscles on either side of the spine. Long periods of desk work and high levels of stress can strain these muscles. Over time, these neck muscles can progress into what is known as myofascial trigger points which can cause severe pain.
Unfortunately, neck pain from desk work and stress are very common issues due to the computer work that many people must perform for their jobs. Neck pain treatment should start with a full evaluation with the goal of decreasing or eliminating neck pain altogether. Neck pain treatment will vary from physical therapy to appropriate exercises. Determining factors of neck pain treatment will vary according to your age, medical history, overall health and the extent of your pain.
Other causes of neck pain which may require treatment include:
• congenital abnormalities of the vertebrae or bones
• cervical disk degeneration
• herniated cervical disk
• arthritis (rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis)
• damage to the muscles, tendons, ligaments
Other neck pain treatment may include:
• medication that reduces the inflammation
• medication to help control or alleviate the pain
• relaxation/ rest
• physical therapy
• neck brace
• immobilization
• specific exercise
• surgery (for severe cases)
Spinal Injury Can Cause Neck and Back Pain
If any part of your spine – muscles, ligaments, joints, bones and discs – are strained or sprained, you could experience acute pain followed by a slow healing process. The pain could be immediate or occur several hours after your injury or exertion. Your injury could affect your neck, head (creating headaches), shoulder or down your arm. The worst part is the pain could increase gradually over days, even weeks.
Potential Causes
Some causes of neck and back pain come from:
- Postural strain
- Degenerated / ruptured cervical disc
- Heavy lifting
- Poor support while sleeping
- Automobile accident
- Osteoporosis or tumors
- Nerve dysfunction
- Unknown cause
Methods of Prevention
Ways you can prevent these problems are to:
- Strengthen your neck and shoulder muscles with consistent exercise
- Sit properly without bending your neck
- Try not to sit for long periods of time without breaks
