Neuropathy In The Feet

Friday, May 13, 2011 @ 10:05 AM

Nerve damage in your feet, also known as neuropathy in the feet, can mean unbearable burning or tingling sensation.  Those damaged nerve endings are just a part of a very complex nerve system which may affect all parts of the body.

Symptoms include tingling, numbness or prickling in your toes or fingers.  Those sensations can spread up to your feet or hands and develop into excruciating pain – becoming worse at night.  The pain may be steady or intermittent.  Furthermore, you could experience a loss of balance and coordination as well as muscle weakness.

Check for any cracks, sores or any other type of injury.  Diabetics are particularly susceptible to neuropathy due to elevated blood sugar levels.  Keeping blood sugars levels under control with a healthy diet is a strong preventative tool.
